Study on the Vehicle Fire: Statistic, Investigation Methods and Experimental Analysis

Based on the characteristics of the car itself, a new perspective on car fires is proposed. Car defects are an important cause of car fire accidents. First of all, this paper sorts out the research status of automobile fires at home and abroad, and compares the statistics of automobile fire accidents in China and the United States. Secondly, it analyzes the influence of automobile characteristics, automobile fire, automobile factor, human factors and environmental uncertainty on automobile fire. In addition, according to the recall data from 2004 to 2016, the characteristics of the structure and distribution of automobile fire defects are analyzed. Among them, the fire system accounts for a large proportion of the fuel system and electrical system. The fuel system accounts for 36.1% of all recalls. The electrical system accounted for 33.2%, the fuel system accounted for 54.78% of all recalls, and the electrical system accounted for 31.52%. The correlation between automobile fire defects and automobile fires was obtained through data analysis. Finally, the method of vehicle fire defect identification based on statistical analysis, field investigation and experimental analysis is proposed. The practical application of the method is verified by four investigation cases, which proves that the method can effectively identify automobile fire defects.
