A Dual-Threshold Detector For FDA-Based Ambient Backscatter Communications

This paper studies an ambient backscatter communication (AmBC) system with frequency diverse array (FDA) signal, we first introduce the system model for the AmBC system, and prove that time-variant FDA signal can achieve separation of two-link signals. A dual-threshold detector is proposed to detect the tag bits, for which the thresholds are given with closed-form expression. Finally, numerical results are presented to show that the proposed detector outperforms the reference detectors in the FDA-AmBC system.
