                摘要
In this study, carbon quantum dots (CDs) [1] were introduced during the preparation of giant electrorheological (BTRU) particles [2], resulting in the successful synthesis of various small-sized BTRU particles and BTRU@CDs nanoparticles. The small particle size improved the interface polarization ability under an electric field, thereby enhancing the electrorheological effect. The particle size distribution results showed that as the size of individual particles decreased, the particle size distribution became wider, indicating the presence of larger aggregates in the particles. However, the introduction of CDs narrowed the particle size distribution, which was concentrated around 200 nm. As the particle size decreased, the yield strength of GERF (giant electrorheological fluid) at 5 kV/mm increased from 39.2 kPa to 107.3 kPa, and the zero-field viscosity increased from 0.56 Pa·s to 2.83 Pa·s. The GERF filled with small-sized and well-dispersed BTRU@CDs particles had a yield strength of 109.0 kPa at 5 kV/mm, and the zero-field viscosity decreased to 2.11 Pa·s, effectively reducing the zero-field viscosity while maintaining a high yield strength. GERF samples with smaller particle sizes exhibited better anti-settling performance over 30 days. The study of the corresponding giant electrorheological elastomers (GEREs) showed that as the particle size decreased, the relative electrorheological effect of GERE at 3 kV/mm increased from 452.30% to 6697.26%, and the relative electrorheological effect of GERE filled with BTRU@CDs particles at 3 kV/mm reached 11236.86%. Viscoelasticity and cross-linking density tests showed that as the particle size decreased, the cross-linking density of the elastomer gradually decreased, and the damping factor gradually increased, exhibiting high viscosity. Finally, a composite table tennis racket rubber based on GERE was successfully demonstrated to control the rebound height of vertically falling objects, revealing its wide potential applications in vibration control.
