Urban cities with growing populations and expansion of inadvertent communities have resulted in energy risk. Inevitably, the impact of energy load-shedding and power outages has risen significantly, coupled with the rise in energy consumption patterns of urban communities, which have consequently caused more stress. To mitigate the energy risk in urban communities, it is essential to enhance community resilience at grass-root level by understanding its influencing factors. The primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire categorized into social, economic, infrastructural, institutional, and psychological dimension from three communities of Karachi, Pakistan to assess overall resilience of urban community with a total sample size of 415 respondents. The study uses inferential statistics (IBM SPSS software) for data analysis of F-test and Pearson correlation. The result showed that all five factors have significant and positive influence on community resilience against energy risk. The study highlights energy risk as social risk and puts forward policy recommendations based on community renewable energy incentives and community engagement and awareness program.
