Late Ediacaran glacial diamictites have been reported globally, suggesting occurrence of a possible great global glaciation which may have close causal relation with the rapid evolution of animal life during this time. However, the timing and duration of these Ediacaran glaciations remain poorly constrained, thus whether these glaciations represent a global synchronous event is controversial and their relations with the life evolution remians elusive. Our new observations and data presented here will provide new insights into these questions.
