A Simultaneous Wireless Power and Data Transfer System Based on Frequency Division Multiplexing and LCC-S Topology

摘要
In the field of wireless power transfer, transmitters and receivers not only achieve power transmission, but also require data feedback and exchange. Therefore, the near-field communication via power link is the preferred choice due to its high reliability and low latency. This article proposed a simultaneous wireless power and data transfer (SWPDT) system based on frequency division multiplexing (FDM) and LCC-S topology, which achieves forward power and feedback data transfer in a single coupling interface, and power transmission and data transmission operate in different frequency. The proposed SWPDT system chooses low frequency carriers to transfer power, analyzes operation principle of power transfer, such as compensation characteristics of LCC-S topology, conditions of soft switching. High-frequency data signals are modulated by ON-OFF keying (OOK), which are injected into the coupled coils. Also, the appropriate modulation, injection, extraction and demodulation circuits are designed for data transfer, and trap inductors and capacitors are used to limit the crosstalk between the power and data transfer channel. A 100-W SWPDT prototype with the feedback data rate of 2kb/s is implemented to demonstrate the feasibility.
