Since the last IMCP workshop held in Sanya, China, in 2011, substantial progress has been achieved in bringing the IMCP idea into reality. As IMCP gathering increasing attention from scientists worldwide, it is a good timing to invite you all to Qingdao to summarize the progress and discuss the future work and action plan of IMCP.
International Space Weather Meridian Circle Program (IMCP) is based on the Meridian Project, the instrument network of which is now being extended to the north in Russia, to the South in Australia, and to the other side of the globe along 60°E. IMCP is designed to connect 120°E and 60°E meridian chains of ground based observatories and enhance the ability of monitoring space environment worldwide which involves Russia, Australia, Canada, Brazil etc.
As you might have noticed, the 2017 IMCP will be held in Qingdao, a historical and cultural city, one of the Taoism cradles in China, and an important port city for international trade along the east coast of China, with trade relations with more than 450 ports in over 130 countries worldwide. When you visit Qingdao, you can trace the mixture of foreign cultures on the local culture and exclaim the natural beauty of the coastal city. You will enjoy your stay in Qingdao.
