This special session is focused on bringing together experts of industry and academia that work on the implementation of pilots related to novel communication paradigms for the Digital Factory of the Future. We are on the verge of a new industrial revolution (Digitizing Industry) that leverages on the integrated information collected from multiple sources in the context of production processes, to optimize existing processes and create new foundations of added value. Members of both industry and academia are producing pilots, which in practice are targeting the same problems regarding the data (collecting, pre-processing, disseminating, integrating, storing, exploiting, etc.) in several ways on different industrial contexts.
Topics:
Pilot implementations of the Digital Factory of the Future;
Demonstrators of novel Factory Communication Paradigms;
Implementation of novel Industrial CPS/IoT Architectures;
Long-term challenges and visions for factory communication;
Acceptance of novel paradigms by the industry;
Testbeds for experimentation of novel communication paradigms.
Submission of Papers: Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in PDF format, according to the instructions contained in the Conference web site. Contributions must contain original unpublished work. Papers that have been concurrently submitted to other conferences or journals (double submissions) will be automatically rejected. Papers are to be submitted electronically in PDF format. Two types of submissions are solicited: Long Papers – from 8 to 10 double-column pages.
