It is our great honor to invite you to the 7th Fermi Asian Network Workshop (FAN7), which will be held during Dec 7-11, 2017, in Lijiang, China.
The FAN was established in 2010 to promote collaborations among the high energy astrophysicists in Asia with particular focus on using the data obtained with the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (Fermi-LAT) for observational and theoretical investigations. It has been successfully held alternately between Chinese Hong Kong, Chinese Taiwan areas and South Korea in the past few years. In order to review our recent efforts and expand our collaboration, we will hold the 7th workshop in Lijiang, China mainland.
We invite participations from all astronomers interested in high energy astronomical phenomena, particularly in Fermi-LAT gamma-ray observations. Young astronomers and students are encouraged to participate.
The Fermi satellite is jointly developed by the United States, France, Italy, Japan and Sweden and was launched on June 11, 2008. It has two instruments: Fermi-LAT and the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM). It is the unique satellite on-orbit in GeV band and provides excellent opportunities for the study of high-energy radiations of celestial phenomena.
The FAN7 will be organized with the following main topics:
Rotation-powered pulsars and their wind nebulae
Gamma-ray binaries
Supernova remnants
AGN/ Galactic Center
Gamma-ray transients
Unidentified Fermi Objects
Gamma-ray bursts
Magnetars
