The International School for Young Astronomers on Stars and Exoplanets will be held in November 26th to December 9th, 2017 in Kunming, China, under the organization of Yunnan Observatories (YNOs) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The Young Astronomers School is sponsored by the Bureau of International Co-operation, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The goal is to stimulate the cooperation of astrophysics in the countries along the Maritime Silk Road of the 21st Century that proposed by China, including the Southeast Asia, Middle East, North Africa, and etc. Young students of Astronomy, Astrophysics and related sciences will be brought together and provided with practical skills of astronomy observations epecially on small and medium-sized telescopes.
The topics will include the formation and evolution of stars, exoplanets, binaries, variable stars, and astronomical observations, and a program of lectures will be given by leading international scientists in these research fields.
Applications are encouraged from the students and young professionals within a broad range of education and experience, from senior undergraduate to postdoctoral level. Priority will be given to applicants from Southeast Asia, but other nationalities will also be considered.
