CUCEN2018 is designed to bring together opinion leaders, decision-makers as well as middle and high-level manpower personnel across the various tiers of government and business sectors to set the agenda for the 2019 general elections and to institute transparency in governance.
The present political dispensation, more than ever before, since the return to democratic governance in 1999 has been threatened by various agitations whereby our sovereignty is under question. Therefore, it is the mandate of the eGovernment and eBusiness Research Centre of Covenant University through CUCEN2018 to proffer solutions to the various challenges.
The theme of CUCEN2018 is broad enough to cover every aspect of ICTs integration in governance, administration, and all areas of democratic practices such as eVoting, eParticipation and ePolling. Others include Cybersecurity, ICT and Law, ICT and Corruption, Public Sector Administration, Privacy and Trust in e-business and e-government amongst others.
At the conference, we shall be addressing issues of Restructuring, Corruption, Transparency and Visionary Leadership through eGovernance. Also, we shall present best practices from some states of the federation, the level of adoption of ICT in governance. Furthermore, there shall be a pre-conference workshop on Computer literacy for interested participants particularly, the government employees.
We, therefore, invite papers and panels that address the broad theme of ICT integration in all sectoral activities in Nigeria. Emphasis will be given to presentations emerging from primary research and case studies of ICT integration in different aspects of the Nigerian society, policy papers, and theoretical and methodological contributions to our understanding of the role of ICT for improved transparency governance, public service delivery, grassroot mobilization and voting.
