MEDICAL PHYSICS:
It is a predominantly technical area that interacts with established medical areas for the realization of applications involving the use of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation with biomedical tissues, especially in medical diagnosis and therapy (radiodiagnosis and radiotherapy).
BIOENGINEERING:
Bioengineering can be said as the engineering of tomorrow. It involves several types of highly innovative projects, involving the application of biology knowledge to solve real problems, using engineering methodologies. Some of the bioengineering subareas that can be cited are: biomaterials, biosensors, tissue engineering and biomedical instrumentation.
REHABILITATION:
Area that uses concepts of computation, mechanics, electronics, materials science, among others, to develop technologies and devices for people with disabilities or limitations. The main objective of Rehabilitation Engineering is to promote a better quality of life, autonomy, social insertion and ease in exercising its activities of daily living .
NEUROSCIENCE:
In Biomedical Engineering, the interest in scientific studies of the nervous system is associated to the application of results of the understanding of the same to the development of new devices (hardware and software). As well, this knowledge applies to the development of new techniques and devices for the study of the nervous system.
