Structural Health Monitoring of civil structures and infrastructures has received significant attention over the last decades, in particular for the opportunities it offers to promptly detect damage and, therefore, enhance the structural safety, support maintenance and extend the structure lifespan.
CSHM-8 focuses the attention on the opportunities of SHM in hazardous environment. Floods, typhoons, earthquakes are often causes of structural damage and collapses. Detecting anomalies in the structural response after an event is of primary importance, in particular in the case of strategic (bridges, hospitals, plants and lifelines) and historical structures.
The CSHM-8 workshop provides an opportunity to showcase achievements, exchange ideas and disseminate knowledge about the potential of SHM for ‘Aging structures and infrastructures in hazardous environment’.
The most recent research results will be presented in a friendly and relaxed environment, fostering new collaborations among the participants.
Local Organizing Committee:
Within the main theme of the Workshop, the following relevant topics have been identified:
Innovative sensing solutions for SHM
Data-driven damage detection techniques
Nonlinear systems and analysis techniques
Influence of environmental and operational conditions
SHM in earthquake prone regions
Real world applications
