活动简介

The 18th Symposium on Systems Analysis in Forest Resources (SSAFR) will be held in Puerto Varas, Chile on March 3-7, 2019. Since 1975, SSAFR has been the premier international forum for operations researchers, systems analysts and management scientists studying forestry, natural resources management and environmental problems. Wedged between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes, running from the 17th to the 56th southern latitudes, Chile is home to a diverse array of forest ecosystems ranging from the Sclerophyll Mediterranean woodlands in the north to the Magellanic rainforests of Southern Patagonia. Due to its humid, temperate climate, a significant portion of the country, including the area around Puerto Varas, is ideal for industrial timber production. The lakes, volcanoes, temperate rainforests and forest plantations of Southern Chile will create the perfect backdrop for this Symposium. We invite you to submit oral presentations on forest harvest scheduling, optimal reserve site selection, wildfire management, forest transportation and supply chain optimization, bioenergy logistics, invasive species and wildlife management, forest decision support systems, forest economics and other related areas.

  2. Maximum of 500 words.
  3. No images or tables are allowed to be submitted as part of the abstract.
  4. Please note the name of the presenting author on the abstract submission form.
  5. The corresponding author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission, and of all communications thereafter.
  6. All notifications regarding abstract status, including notifications regarding acceptance and scheduling will be sent to the corresponding author. The corresponding author will be responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract.
  7. The submission form will request the name, affiliation and email address of each co-author.
  8. Once completing the submission, a confirmation email will be sent to the corresponding author.

Notices

The specific themes for which abstracts are sought include but are not restricted to the following:

  • Forest harvest scheduling,
  • Optimal reserve site selection,
  • Wildfire management,
  • Forest transportation,
  • Supply chain optimization,
  • Bioenergy logistics,
  • Invasive species and wildlife management,
  • Forest decision support systems,
  • Forest economics, and
  • Methodological contributions (e.g., integer programming, multi-criteria decision analysis, stochastic optimization, etc.).
