Following the success of the inaugural EAGE Students and Young Professionals Forum which addressed the ‘Future of Young Talents’, the second edition will continue to build on this theme but will specifically address ‘Empowering & Developing Young Talents.’
The Second EAGE Middle East Students and Young Professionals Forum aims to be a platform for students and young professionals to engage in cross-generational dialogues with industry leaders, academics, recruitment specialists and the likes. This will be an opportunity to learn from their experiences and insights gained from working in the Oil, Gas and Energy industry.
Building on the 2012 two-day programme, the Forum in 2014 will offer relevant interactions amongst the participants by way of keynote speeches, presentations and panel discussions on current topical issues. The very successful Executive Managers Session is also set to return highlighting the industry’s decision-makers and leaders’ paths to success. In addition to poster presentations, the Second EAGE Middle East Students and Young Professionals Forum will introduce our Annual Geo-Quiz!
The EAGE’s Annual Geo-Quiz is a game-show style competition where students are challenged to prove their geoscience knowledge and skills learned during the course of their studies. Up to 20 teams will be put to the test as they compete to outwit each other for exciting prizes, again, prizes will be presented at the Gala Dinner!
Last but definitely not least, a field trip is also in the pipeline to supplement the technical activities during the event. Oman is certainly a fascinating place to visit as a geologist and this field trip is one not to be missed!
Overall the Forum will offer plenty of opportunities for networking and a true experiential initiative amongst the students, young professionals and industry specialists.
