活动简介

The media sector in China and in the Asia-Pacific region is faced with both challenges for transformation and opportunities for development. The APSP-6, to be held at this critical juncture, will try to probe into the latest situation, patterns and trends in the media landscape, and will make great efforts to improve the performance and sustainable development capacity of the Asia-Pacific region in the New Media Revolution. The year 2008 highlights the Olympic Games, which will be an unprecedented arena both for sports and for media. The APSP-6, scheduled in the wake of the Beijing Olympics, provides an excellent opportunity to observe new trends and traits of media development. The year 2008 marks the 30th anniversary of China’s implementation of the reform and opening up policy. The media ecosystem in China has been and is undergoing rapid changes, and China’s media sector will open up further. The APSP-6 will offer a rare chance for everyone who pays attention to China’s media reform. The year 2008 also marks the 50th and 20th anniversary of the founding of the CAST and the CSSTJ respectively, as well as the 30th anniversary of the convening of China’s first National Science Conference. The APSP-6 will once again create a platform for the exchanges of theoretical and practical issues in sci-tech journalism. In the context of the above backdrop, the APSP-6 will be themed at New Tech, New Media, New Vision -- Opportunities and Challenges to Mass Media.
