On behalf of the Israel Society for Quality and the organizing committee, I am honored to invite you to participate in the 21st International Conference of the Israel Society for Quality, which will take place on November 15-17, 2016 at the David InterContinental Hotel, in Tel Aviv, Israel. The theme of this year's conference is "The Challenges of Quality in a Competitive World". This is one of the largest and most prominent conferences in its field in the world, linking the different sectors of the economy.
In the present day and age, with rapid changes and short response times, a dynamic and creative approach is needed and indeed of the utmost importance at all times, no less so in the field of quality. Competitiveness focuses on three main dimensions: on-time delivery, quality and service. Quality professionals are involved in leading and implementing efficiency processes, meeting deadlines and providing service. More and more do we find ourselves in the position of having to accomplish short term goals, perform multiple tasks, and deal with changing technologies and demands to manage multiple disciplines. We need to prioritize and determine the proper proportions and balance, in order to help the organization improve its performance and to prove its efficiency and ability to withstand competition and meet the customers’ expectations.

Tomorrow's challenges different from today’s. During the international conference we will work to share the knowledge and experience that has been gained between all the quality experts gathered together for this important and prestigious professional event. We will focus on the application of tools, methods for management, marketing quality within an organization and quality assurance of the product for the benefit of quality professionals.
I see the conference as an excellent opportunity to address and discuss the different developments in the field of quality, to tell the story of Israel as an inexhaustible source of innovation, creativity and technology and to try to expand collaborations in the field.
The conference will include sessions and panels in new areas such as audits, innovation and creativity, customer-oriented service, standards, quality in software, hardware and cybernetics, quality in defense, aviation and aerospace, quality in global organizations, the global challenge in quality management, information and knowledge management, increased efficiency and reduced costs, Six Sigma, quality in the food industry, quality in healthcare, quality in public organizations, system reliability, safety, quality in supply chain processes, quality in management processes and systems engineering, and additional professional topics.
I consider all of you as active partners and stakeholders who will contribute to the success of the conference. I call upon everyone who cares about the quality world to engage, influence and suggest new ideas and topics, and also bring knowledge of the conference to the attention of additional target audiences, submit abstracts and posters and actively participate in the 21st International Conference of the Israel Society for Quality.
