The 2017 Gordon Research Conference on Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage is the second meeting in this series following the successful inaugural meeting in 2015. This GRC-CCUS will present cutting-edge research in the fields of carbon capture, utilization and storage including CO2 conversion to chemicals and fuels using renewable energy sources. Specific topics will include novel materials for carbon capture, innovative CO2 storage technologies, process intensification and integration, scales, and energy policy.
Both fundamental and implementation challenges of CCUS will be discussed in highly interdisciplinary setting and the Conference will bring together a collection of investigators who are at the forefront of their areas, and will provide opportunities for junior scientists and graduate students to present their work in poster format and exchange ideas with leaders in the field. The collegial atmosphere of this Conference, with programmed discussion sessions as well as opportunities for informal gatherings in the afternoons and evenings, provides an avenue for the much needed interactions between scientists from different disciplines in CCUS to brainstorm and promotes cross-disciplinary collaborations in the various research areas represented.usually oversubscribes, submission of applications in early 2017 is strongly encouraged.
