As Chairman of the Commission on Mineral and Thermal Water of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH-CMTW) and a Member of the MinWat2017 Scientific Advisory Committee it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in this excellent Conference. In addition to having the opportunity to attend the meetings and make presentations you will have the opportunity to publish your papers in Springer Nature’s International Journal, Sustainable Water Resource Management.
A thematic issue of selected papers from one of the three main scientific topics of the conference will be published. The topic will be: Origin, protection and management of mineral and thermal waters. For more information about the journal and to access the Instructions to Authors please visit www.springer.com/40899.
I attended the 1st International Multidisciplinary Conference on Mineral Waters: Genesis, Exploitation, Protection and Valorisation. It was a unique opportunity to interact with internationally known professionals in the fields of academia, industry, consulting, medicine, research and development, and their related professional and business associations. Select Conferences may attract attendees from some of these organizations but it’s unusual to have them all together and sharing their disparate viewpoints.
The surroundings of the Conference also will make for an atmosphere in which participants will be able to relax and openly share their ideas. Luso Spa surrounded by the beauty of the Buçaco Mountains allows for perfect harmony between body, mind and soul. Portugal is one of the richest countries in Europe for spa treatments which offer the opportunity to relieve one’s body of the stress associated with everyday life and open one’s mind to new ideas and friendships.
Not only is the area famous for its spas but it is also known for the renowned Luso Spring Water. Visits to the facility that bottles this water and the Luso Thermal Complex will round out the experience which will make this Conference a highlight of your year mentally and physically. I look forward to seeing you at MinWat2017.
